WELCOME TO IRAQ TRAVEL GUIDE

It is my pleasure to write a guide, even a small one, about my country, Iraq. Many, due to the news and the media, may have a negative idea about Iraq, but this country is still alive and its history and civilization are still high.
Although I spent 25 years in Iraq, I did not visit all of its 18 provinces
I will share with you here my information and experience and do not hesitate to contact me for any inquiries

Things to See and Do in Iraq

Erbil Citadel
Abdul Qadir Gilani Mosque
Al-Mutanabbi Statue
The Iraqi Museum
Mesopotamian Marshes
Malwiya Mosque
Imam Hussein's Shrine
Ahmed Awa waterfall

Typical Costs When Travelling

Accommodation – There is a great diversity in hotel prices and their level, you can find a hotel with $5 a night in popular areas, and you can find a hotel with $300 a night, such as Sheraton hotels and others

Food – The Iraqi cuisine is famous and so delicious. I recommed Samad Restaurant in Baghdad to test the real Iraqi dishes like Dolma, Kabab, BBQ… etc.

And don’t miss to eat Masgouf in Abu Nawas

Transportation – Unfortunately the public transportation are difficult to use for foreign. But you can rent a car or request for a taxi like Careem taxi

Suggested daily budget – 70-120 USD (Note: This is a suggested budget assuming you’re staying in a good hotel, eating out two meals and using taxi
