When you hear about Bursa, the first thing that comes to your mind is Uludag, but what is often unknown is that Bursa contains many tourist attractions that are no less important than Uludag and its beauty
This summer, I decided to visit Bursa on a three-day trip to visit the city’s attractions and explore it as a local
My journey started from the port of Yenikapi in Istanbul, European side (you can reach Bursa by car, ferry- boat or bus that departs from the Otogar)
For me, I chose the ferry boat because the summer weather is beautiful and the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the sea
It takes about an hour and a half, after which we reach the port of Bursa, and from there I rent a car to start my journey in this beautiful city
(There are several stations for the departure of ships to Bursa from Istanbul, including Yenikapi, Eminonu and Bostanci, and at several times you can check this from the ferry-boats’ site ido)
It’s called Green Bursa due to the large number of trees covering its lands
This city is famous for industry and agriculture, as there are many factories for clothes, cars, furniture and others
And agriculture is famous for its many farms, which are exported to several cities in Turkey like; apple, peach, grape and vegetable.
My trip to this beautiful city was for three days, starting from Istanbul from the port of Yanikapi, where I took the ferry heading to Bursa on a journey of about an hour and a half.
Upon arrival, I had booked a car with a driver to start our tours in this beautiful city. At the beginning we headed to the oldest Ottoman village that still exists today, which is Cumalikizik.
The houses of this village still exist today, and the village owners serve the traditional Turkish village breakfast in their houses’ garden.
This village is about an hour’s drive from the ferry area and about half an hour from the city center
Prices are average and food is normal (please make sure to check the restaurant reviews from Google before try it, some restaurants have not fresh food)
Then we went to the hotel, there are many hotels in the city center, and at varying prices, it is possible to get a four-star hotel in the city center at a price of $ 40 a night, more and possible less.
The hotel I chose to stay was in the city center on Cumhuriyet Street, which is the center of the old city and its lively streets are located near the clock tower overlooking Top Hanh, Grand Bazaar, and Ulu Mosque (all these places are about 5 to 10 minutes walk away).
Known as “Green Bursa“, the city is filled with gardens and parks and overlooks a verdant plain
